Bharatanatyam Repertoire:
Eka — The First Offering

Every dancer begins by listening —
to her breath, to her guru, and to the sound of her own bells.

“Eka” means one — symbolizing both a beginning and a sense of oneness with the art.

Traditionally, the Salangai Pooje marks a dancer’s readiness to perform — a sacred rite of passage, where the dancer steps into a deeper commitment to her practice.

“This showcase interprets the Alarippu as the dancer’s first step into her artistic journey — much like a devotee entering a sacred temple. It marks a beginning filled with curiosity, humility, and reverence. With each movement, she explores, learns, and gradually deepens her connection to the art form, unfolding her understanding of dance step by step.”

We invite you to witness Eka — The First Offering.

Dancers : Vithusha Illanganathan, Adithi Sundarakrishnan, Disha Garg, Verona Veerabadren, Krithika Kasi, Devika Sreemon, Sinthusha, Sristi Sarma.

A Bharatanatyam Presentation :

Prerana — The Inspiration

The finale presentation explores the vibrant world of the Tillana in raga Sindhu Bhairavi — a dynamic celebration of rhythm, movement, and connection.

Through intricate patterns and evolving energy, the dancers move as one, weaving strength with grace and precision with abandon. As the tempo builds, choreography transforms into a state of surrender, where the artist and the art become inseparable.

At its heart, this piece reflects a deeper philosophy — that true artistry lies in balance, awareness, and sustainability, allowing dance to live, breathe, and evolve through time.
