Opening Act! 

 

“Before I begin” is a sequence of short acts that will be enacted using the gestures and movements used in Bharatanatyam. The concept originated from the journey that every dancer takes before they step into the dancing world.  

 

A combination of Angika Abhinaya (expression through body) and Vachika Abhinaya (expression through words) is playfully used to communicate to the audience.

"Becoming a mother "

 

A mother to be is not a role that one can take up so easily no matter how much of the knowledge an outside world can give. It is that instinct within every woman who needs to experience it  naturally. It comes with a lot of acceptance and surrender to the changes within you. This piece is a reflection of the emotional stages to becoming a Mother rendered through nine emotions in Bharatanatyam notably known as the Navarasa.
